Jessica is a young vampire turned by Bill as part of his punishment for killing a fellow vampire.
Raised in a sheltered God-fearing family, Jessica snuck out of her home to a friend's party only to be kidnapped by a bunch of bloodsuckers. She awoke to find the Magister casting sentence on Bill Compton, who was forced to turn Jessica as retribution for killing a fellow vampire. Rather than being depressed by her transformation, Jessica embraced it. After Bill left her in the care of Eric Northman she was taught how to feed like 'a
real vampire' and, as Eric lived below the
vampire club Fangtasia, was able to live her
life how she wanted.
